In this episode you will learn:

1. Success is an opinion, and yours is the only one that counts.

We've been handed someone else's definition of success and told to chase it. Big company. Fast growth. 30 Under 30. Kym built a multi-million dollar agency by rejecting all of it. Her version? Waking up happy, attending the games, not dreading Monday. The moment you stop measuring yourself against someone else's scorecard is the moment you actually start winning.

2. Burnout is not a badge. It's a warning label.

Kym answered emails minutes after her fourth child was born, and was celebrated for it. She hated that. She built Always On Digital specifically so nobody on her team ever had to make that trade. The relay race model means shifts, not sacrifice. When people aren't burned out, they care more, stay longer, and show up like it's their own business. Because it feels like it is.

3. Empathy isn't soft. It's the whole strategy.

Sick kids on Zoom calls. Workouts built into the workday. No stigma around a therapist appointment. Kym didn't add empathy on top of her business model, she made it the foundation. What she discovered: when people feel safe, they perform. When they're seen, they stay. The companies still treating employees like children should be seen and not heard? Their revolving door is their own fault.

“I found myself begging for work from home or begging to leave early enough to get to a place where I could see my kids for a half hour at night." - 00:03:32

"I would say I always wanted to be the leader that I am now in terms of giving people this flexibility and in creating loyalty this way for the business." - 00:39:58

"Why not you? Why can't you do it? Why are you waiting?" - 00:58:55

This episode is supported by Victoria Lee Starr.
